30. Cedric Spencer Wills (Horatio Spencer Howe , Edward Spencer , Edward ) was born on 1 Dec 1844. He died on 23 Jan 1914.
Cedric attended Scotch College, Melbourne. After which he went to school in Germany at Bonn, where he and his brothers Horace and Egbert were when their father was killed. They came home in 1862 and Cedric went to"Cullinlaringo" about December of that year. He took over management in1870 or thereabouts. He married and had 12 children, so today has many descendents in Central Queensland, North and South Qld too. His three eldest daughters were sent to Methodist Ladies College in Melbourne to be educated!
Cedric Spencer Wills married Elizabeth Henrietta McDonald of Brewarrina, NSW on 20 March 1872 at her uncle's home at "Yaamba" near Rockhampton (north of). She was daugher of George McDonald and Elizabeth (nee Dowse). They set up house at Cullinlaringo where Cedric was managing for the trustees of his father's estate. Prior to this and after H.S. Wills' death, Tom Wills had managed for a while, but the shock of his father's death and the state in which he (Tom) had found him, plus the loneliness, preyed on his mind. He began to mismanage the estate. Also he was in a frenzy of hate for the aborigines and seemed to spend his time shooting them! Obviously emotionally unbalanced at this time. After 1872 to 1881 when the trustees sold "Cullinlaringo" to Cedric, Horatio and Egbert - quartershare each and quarter share remaining to Elizabeth Spencer and Minna Spencer Wills. Cedric continued to manage for the new partnership until a series of droughts hit them and the banks foreclosed in 1892. At that date Cedric had "Spring Creek" of 7,000 acres in his wife's name, "Lexington" about 8,500 acres in his mother's name, "Mt Minerva" 16,000 acres in his daughter's name (Elizabeth) and 460 acres in his father inlaw's name, 760 acres in his son's (Horace) name, so he built on Horace'sblock "Minerva Creek" and carried on grazing there. Went to live in Rockhampton about 1900; but returned to Minerva in 1908, lived there until he died in Springsure Hospital in 1914 (about 12kms from MinervaCreek Station). He is buried at Minerva in the family cemetary.
"Minerva Creek" homestead built about 1893 is still in use and lived inby Brian and Zita Wills and family. Business run as "Wills Bros".
"Lexington" which was owned by Cedric (1st) second last son - Thomas -was willed to Antill Wills, who is running it with a partner.
The small original "Minerva Creek" slab homestead has been moved toSpringsure Park to be used as a museum.
Cedric married Elizabeth Henrietta McDonald on 20 Mar 1872. Elizabeth died in 1944.

Horace, Cedric's (1st) eldest son, managed "Minerva Creek" for his father1900-1909, when he sold his interest in the land and selected a place of his own named "Walalee", near Springsure, central Qld. He later sold it and became a commission agent in Springsure where he lived until he died. He was a Shire Councillor for 20 years and a Shire Chairman for 10years.Horatio married (1) Alice Cooper on 8 Jan 1901. Horatio married (2) Sybil Hassell about 1922. 52 M v Cedric Spencer Wills was born on 29 Nov 1877. He died on 29 May 1975.
Cedric Spencer (1st) 2nd Son, also "Cedric Spencer" spent his early life at Cullinlaringo. He went with the Queensland First Contingent to the Boer War. On his return he seemed to have been in rough riding shows for some years. He joined Captain McCloud and on an old program in Brian Wills' care they list themselves as attractions for "Buckskin Bill's Wild West Show" and "Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show", season 1900-1-2. "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show" season 1903, "Texas Jack's Wild West Show" South African Tour 1904. Wirth Bros. Circus and Wild West Show - Australian Tour 1905. Brian Wills has original agreement with Wirth's and he signed up as "Sydney" Wills, but it is definitely his waiting! (no one by the name of "Cedric" could last all that long in a wild west show - EE). In 1905 he wrote from Hay, NSW, on 4 December 1905 wrote from Deniliquin, NSW, on 4 February 1905 from Port Wakefield, SA, on 22 June 1906 from Adelaide. In 1908 he won the Australian Buck Jumping Championship at the Sydney Showground, riding under the name "Bronco Bob". He returned to "Minerva Creek" station shortly after but quarrelled with his father and left in 1909. In November 1910 he was with the Development Company, Port Moresby as their Transport Manager. He was back again at Minerva Creek in 1913. But after his father died in January 1914 he quarrelled with his brother Colden and left again. Married and settled in "Home Hill" North Queensland, where he died in 1957.Cedric married Luzye Marguerite Eade about 1913. 53 F vi Minnie Spencer Wills was born on 27 Apr 1880. She died on 28 Dec 1962.

Ruby married Stephen Creed. 57 F x Ivy Spencer Wills was born on 3 Jul 1885. She died on 5 Feb 1968 in Victoria. Ivy married Fred Tyrrell. 58 M xi Thomas Wentworth Spencer Wills was born on 25 Jul 1886. He died on 22 May 1963. 59 M xii Colden Spencer Wills was born on 15 Jan 1888. He died on 20 May 1972.

Emily and Henry's parents were half brother and sister.
He had discussed with his half-cousin Thomas Wentworth Wills the idea of a football code for cricketers. Harrison was also Wills' future brother-in-law - in 1864 he married Emily Wills, who was probably the first white child born in the Ararat district.
Australian football quickly became established in Geelong and the practice was to play matches between "Australia" and "the World". The game was taken to Melbourne and gained immediate acceptance. The Melbourne Football Club was established in 1858 and then Richmond, South Yarra, Royal Park and Geelong. Tom Wills captained Melbourne and "Coley" Harrison led Richmond. Wills later went to Geelong and Harrison took over the Melbourne side. Harrison also led Geelong at a later date - a unique record.
